CORPORATE EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER
CANBERRA
I'm a Canberra-based photographer and I specialise in photographing corporate events at all of the main event venues in Canberra, and in particular at the Australian Parliament House where I am a preferred supplier.
I can certainly help you out if you’re interested in having your corporate event photographed.
Firstly, have a look at the gallery of pictures below to see if my style suits you. If you like what you see, then scroll down and I’ll talk about costs, how I work, how to book me, and I’ll try to answer other questions that you might have. And of course if you have more questions or would like a quote then don’t hesitate to get in touch.
The sort of corporate events that I photograph
conferences (single and multi-day)
seminars
report launches
gala dinners
award presentation events
speeches and keynote addresses
These are typical of the corporate and business events that I photograph in Canberra. Clients include government, commercial, advisory, membership, and not-for-profit organisations.
I don't photograph weddings, private parties or families.
How much I charge
2-3 hour events from $540 (plus gst)
For those shorter corporate events such as presentations, speeches, openings, breakfast events, etc.
Full day: $1750 (plus gst)
This is the base day rate for full- or multi-day conferences/events in Canberra.
Full day plus evening event: $2150 (plus gst)
For those days during your conference or event that include an evening event such as a gala dinner or awards ceremony.
These are typical fees that I charge for common event types in Canberra. Note that these can vary a bit depending on the nature of your event.
How I work
I usually photograph events on my own — I don’t outsource jobs or contract other photographers so if you book me for your event then you get me!
Before the event some clients send me reams of briefing notes and others just like to have a quick chat minutes before the event starts. Either way, it’s important that I know what you’ve got planned so that I make sure that I can be in the right places at the right times to photograph your event well.
During your event I’ll be moving around a lot, but I try very hard to never get in the way of your audience and their experience of your event. It’s impossible to be invisible but I try very hard.
If you have asked to receive pictures during your event then at certain points I'll stop photographing in order to quickly process key photographs for you.
After the event I'll head back to my studio to start the process of selecting, culling, processing and polishing your set of photographs. When they're ready I'll email links to you and you'll be able to use those links to download your finished photos or you can simply forward them on to your colleagues and attendees if you want them to have access to the galleries directly.
How to book
The first thing to do is to get in touch to check my availability and to describe your event to me. I'll then send you a quote. If you're happy with the quote then I'll lock that booking in for you. That's all you need to do.
I don't need a deposit or anything else at this stage. In terms of payment, I'll simply invoice you for the full amount when I deliver the final images to you.
Turnaround times
In short:
Highlights or key images within a few hours
The possibility of some key images being available during the event itself
The remainder in 1-3 days typically
Before the event we will have discussed the turnaround times that you need for the delivery of your photos. This will vary depending on your needs and the nature of your corporate event, but typically clients can get a small set of key images within a few hours of the end of the event. (It might also be possible to receive some images during the event itself.) And then the rest of the pictures will be sent to you within 1-3 days. However, this is negotiable depending on your needs and it’s something we’ll talk about beforehand so we all know what to expect.
How the photographs are delivered
Your finished set of photographs are delivered electronically as ready-to-use jpeg files using a file delivery service called Picdrop, which is designed especially for photographers. I'll send you links for low, medium and high resolution galleries of your photographs.
FAQs
-
The fees listed above include:
the coverage of your event by one photographer (ie, me!) for the times and places that you specify;
Standard editing and post-production work to ensure your images look their best;
Digital delivery of the finished images as full-resolution jpeg files (or any format that you need);
Optionally, the provision of an online image gallery that is just for you. You can freely forward the link to the gallery to all of the participants and they will be able to view and download the images directly from the gallery (or it can be configured with a password or as view-only depending on what you need).
-
Absolutely. I photograph a lot of corporate events at Parliament House and I know all of the event spaces there very well.
-
No. Not any more.
I used to be, but they changed their requirements and as a freelancer who works for clients (and not for Parliament House) it’s not feasible or realistic for me to hold a pass without seriously annoying unsuspecting politicians or senior APH officials which is something I’ll never do!
For that reason I need to be signed in and escorted through the building like any other visitor to the building.

I usually work on my own — and for most events that works fine. If you feel that you might need coverage in more than one location at the same time then talk to me about what you need.
-
Yes, that’s possible. Let me know what you need.
-
No, I don’t offer videography at all — only still photography. However if you need a videographer then I can recommend one to you.
-
No, this is not a service that I offer. I only deliver pictures that I have had a chance to view and process. If you need pictures straight away for social media or other purposes then it might be possible to deliver some key pictures very quickly if there is an opportunity to stop photographing for the time it takes to load and process those images. That’s usually possible at longer events and conferences, but it’s often not possible at short events. However, talk to me about what you need and I’ll do my best for you.
