About the workshops
The Bradley Cummings Photography Workshops have been running in Canberra for the last five years, and in that time they have grown into a very successful series of fun, small-group-learning workshops that cater for complete beginners to DSLR photography as well as for more advanced photographers.
All of my Canberra workshops are held in my studio in Wright in the ACT. They are strictly limited to very small groups which allows the time and the opportunity for one-to-one attention with each participant while still being large enough for participants to discuss and learn from each other too, which I think is a very important part of the workshop experience.
Registrations for the workshops are all done online. When you register using the online form, your place is automatically reserved for you. When the workshops are full the online registration function is automatically disabled which means that there can never be more than the maximum number of people for each workshop. I keep the numbers strictly limited.
To register and pay for each workshop you just need to click the relevant ‘book’ button on the workshop schedule on this page. You just need to fill in your details and complete the payment process using the services of WeTeachMe, which is the company that I use to manage registrations and payment.
After you register, you will receive more detailed information by email about a week before the workshop.
The workshops are aimed at owners of digital cameras and the main thing is that you have a camera that allows you to control it manually as well as automatically.
If you are in doubt about the suitability of your camera, then don’t hesitate to contact me and I would be happy to discuss it with you.
Of course. In fact, I think that’s a great idea.
It’s very easy to be confused by the range of options on the market and by the language that the sales people use when talking about the products that they sell, so getting some knowledge about cameras and photography before you make your purchase will make it that much easier for you to make the right decision for yourself about what camera will meet your needs and why.
I usually have at least one spare DSLR camera for workshop participants to use at each workshop if they don’t yet own their own camera, so if that’s you then just let me know beforehand.
Yes. Absolutely. I get asked this a lot, actually, but I assume no knowledge at all for this workshop.
Typical participants for this workshop might have owned their camera for a short while and have managed to shoot some pictures in the full automatic mode (usually in green on the dial!), and that’s about it. In fact, I even had one participant once who had just bought her camera the previous evening and hadn’t yet got it out of the box!
I understand that sometimes things happen that cause you to have to cancel at the last minute. I ask that you give me as much notice as possible if you can because often I can fill your place from my waiting list.
Depending on the situation I’ll either send you a refund or you can re-book into the next available workshop.
But if you just don’t turn up without letting me know then I’m afraid you’ll lose your money. I hate to say that, but you must understand that I have to draw the line somewhere.
Yes, they run regardless of the weather.
WeTeachMe is an Australian company that specialises in listing and managing bookings and payments for face-to-face classes around Australia.
Up to the beginning of 2017 I managed all of the online registrations and payments through my own website. That worked just fine for a number of years but as web-based technology changed it became apparent that I needed to outsource this service so that I could continue to be assured that my clients’ registrations and payments were being managed securely and professionally. I chose WeTeachMe to look after this process on my behalf.
